July 13th - Pierre's Echo Bay Marina

It was 60' when I got up around 6:30.  The rain stopped so we'll see how long that lasts.  It got up to 70' today - very nice day...partly cloudy, but some sun peaking through most of the day.

Shadow is a great boat cat.  He's been very entertained here with lots of birds flying by - his tail is constantly twitching.  He runs from window to window trying to catch them.  He's also been entertained by the many dogs wandering the docks, not to mention the people & boats coming & going.

Tonight's dinner was halibut fish & chips, coleslaw, rolls if you wanted them & key lime pie.  After
dinner, NASA astronaut, Capt. John Creighton spoke.  He did an excellent presentation & answered a lot of questions.  He made 3 trips into space, 1 of which he can't talk about, 2 of which he captained.

We sat with 4 couples - 1 a SYC member & I used to be on a board of a non-profit which she ran to prevent teenage pregnancy.  One of the couples was American (& he's having his 86th birthday tomorrow) & the other was a Canadian couple - both of these were friends of our SYC friends.
